Yoga nidra by Jenessa Stark
Sound bath by Joshua Stoddard
Become one with the cosmic vibration on this powerful restorative journey.
To initiate our time together, we'll chant the sacred sound "aum" as a group. This mantra encourages your body and mind to be receptive to the inner experience of the guided yoga nidra (yogic sleep) and the healing potential of the sound bath vibrations that follow.
Bring any props or blankets you find comforting for this journey, and wear layers to control your micro environment. Your body will be still for some time as Jenessa ushers you into a state of yogic sleep with a poetic script that has been written to bring awareness to your being on a cellular level.
Once swept into the state of yoga nidra, your sound bath experience will be tuned to the healing frequency of 432 Hz, created by crystal singing bowls, live vocals, and other ambient sources. Joshua Stoddard’s calming sounds create a peaceful atmosphere to bring harmony to your body, mind and spirit.
Saturday, Feb 23, 1-4pm
Class cost: $50
Upon completion of the class, certificates will be issued to each student for three continuing education credits. Pre-registration is required.
Learn how to fuse two types of Asian bodywork -- Acupressure and Thai massage -- into your practice.
Class will begin with centering methods to help you work with more awareness of body mechanics. You will then learn vital acupressure points and how to apply them effectively.
Gail will guide you through traditional Shiatsu and Thai techniques using fingers, palms, forearms, elbows and feet. You will also be taught beneficial stretching and joint mobilization, which are essential components of Eastern modalities. This continuing education course will focus on how to integrate these bodywork techniques into a basic sequence designed to relieve tension and pain of the shoulders.
This class is brought to you by the Breathe Continuing Education Program, which offers courses every other month for our community. If you are interested in attending our classes and/or teaching a class, please contact Shelby at 360-604-1226.
